Pankaj Kumar is the Founder and CEO of Relic Care, which he started to bring conversational AI to long-term care — easing the documentation and administrative load on care teams while improving the day-to-day experience of the residents and patients they serve. The company grew out of its founders' own experience caring for a family member. Pankaj came to healthcare after a long career in enterprise software: he co-founded Ignify, an ERP, CRM, and eCommerce provider later acquired by Hitachi Solutions, where he architected an eCommerce platform that processed more than $1 billion in merchandise. He holds a B.E. in Electronics Engineering from the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. At Relic Care he writes about where AI adoption meets the realities of long-term care — the nursing shortage, patient experience, and the compliance and documentation trail underneath it all — from the vantage point of the person building the tools. His throughline is a practical conviction that AI's best role in care is to take on repetitive administrative and documentation work so clinicians keep more time for the human judgment, empathy, and direct care only people can provide — and, more personally, to use technology to reduce patient suffering and bring moments of relief to patients and families. He is based in the Los Angeles area.
